Great Egret Mug

This 12oz ceramic mug has a glossy protective exterior and a c-curved handle for an easy comfort grip.  It showcases artwork by renowned artist and naturalist John J Audubon (1785–1851).  His paintings were used to create his landmark Birds of America...a book with 435 lifelike images glorifying the beauty of North American birds that helped spur early conservation efforts.

This mug features a reproduction of Audubon's painting of a Great Egret that stresses the bird’s habitat and behavior with the mud chimneys of crayfish, its preferred food, but retains its backward-looking stance.  The horizontal composition of the image wraps around the mug and ends with a lovely green trim containing the Bok Tower Gardens' name and Audubon's signature.
